Raffaello, Antonio da Sangallo and Palladio

The entrance portal, inside the loggia of Villa Forni Cerato, is characterized by a jutting tympanum supported by volute corbels, inspired by the so-called “ionic door”, derived from the use of Renaissance papal Rome. We find an example of this in Villa Madama, in the giant order of the southern facade or in the portal that gives access to the garden. Andrea Palladio would therefore have honored #Raffaello and #AntoniodaSangallo for the house of #GirolamoForni.
